BITM’s Initiatives…

 

 

BITM established now a day as support organization and a centre for Participatory Learning, Research and Action, to promote and strengthen civil society organizations of Jharkhand. BITM strive for building and strengthening capacities of CSOs through people centric approach placing people at the centre of all developmental initiatives. Partnership and reciprocal sharing of information with the target groups is the nucleus of our values. BITM works with grassroots organizations that strive for social change. We provide Capacity Building support to our partners through organizing training programmes, workshops and providing intensive support in their programmes. To harmonize/supplement our efforts and enhance the knowledge base, we also undertake studies and disseminate information on vibrant and imperative developmental issues.BITM is committed to strengthen the institutions of local self-governance by providing capacity building support to different actors of civil society. The mission of BITM is to build and strengthen capacity of civil society organizations through an approach where people are placed at the centre of all development initiatives. BITM’s main thrust area of intervention is local self governance both rural and urban with a perspective on gender justice and increased space for marginalized communities in the democratic functioning of institutions of local self governance.

BITM is well known for its over 50 publications and Training on OD, Panchayati Raj System, Self Help Groups, T.O.T , Micro Planning, NGO Management, Finance Management etc. BITM has established community level experimentation centre in region of Jharkhand. Experimentation on interfacing local government institutions with various themes such as social audit, migration, disaster management, girl child education, forest right etc. are being undertaken in those experimentation locations at the community level. The learning from such sites is used for training and policy advocacy at the state level.
